Where Can I Buy Resveratrol
Resveratrol, a chemical compound that is found in certain plants has antibiotic properties that keep the plant safe from a bacterial or fungus attack. Mainly found in grapes and grape skin, mulberries, cranberries, blueberries, peanuts and Japanese knotweed, resveratrol is fast becoming popular as a health supplement because of the several benefits associated with it. It is known to be beneficial against heart diseases and has cancer-fighting properties.
Now with more studies being conducted, resveratrol is believed to be an aid for weight loss too. Under the studies done, mice were fed with a high calorie diet along with resveratrol supplement. The results showed that the mice were protected against the ill-effects of high fat diet with regard to obesity.
In humans, resveratrol is known to simulate the SiRT1 gene. This gene is known to start work by activation of cells through a fight response. When we take calorie restricted diets, the SiRT1 gene activates and breaks down the stored fat. The breaking up of stored fat results in increased energy levels. When resveratrol supplement is included in the regular intake, there is the simulation of SiRT1 gene and so weight can be maintained with natural diet too and there is not much need to constrict the diet.
Some other studies have revealed the capability of resveratrol to counter the two main culprits of obesity – diabetes and insulin resistance. These results based on animal studies showed that high doses of resveratrol were helpful in keeping down the weight as well as slowing the aging process. The same applies to humans too. Personal experiences and reviews by those who have used resveratrol supplement support this claim. Resveratrol is also known to maintain a healthy metabolism by suppressing estrogen metabolites which is helpful in decreasing body fat and leading to an increase in the capability of gaining lean muscle. This stimulates the metabolism to burn fat and calories quickly. Resveratrol is helpful in keeping the weight down as there is a weakened appetite after taking the resveratrol supplement. Some see this as a drawback of resveratrol, but others pioneering resveratrol as a weight loss supplement portray it as its main advantage.
Therefore we see that resveratrol has the potential to aid in weight loss. Although not clinically proven in humans, yet the reviews from personal experience support this theory. More studies are being conducted and clinical trials on humans are underway to know the potency of resveratrol as an aid to weight loss.
