The only aspect to ponder is that all the research on resveratrol has been conducted on mice and other animals, and has not yet been successfully tried on human beings. The dosage given to mice which showed symptoms of anti obesity and anti diabetes, if compared for men would equate to 1000 bottles of red wine, which is out of question. It has been experimented and deduced that 20 mg of resveratrol tablet or capsule in a day for a human being was sufficient enough to result anti aging changes in a mice. Thus a 20 mg intake of resveratrol a day would be able to give positive results to human beings. The question is that whether this dose would produce any side effects, or rather what would be its exact effect on the other parts and functioning of a human body?
One of a leading pharmaceutical company has launched resveratrol capsules of 15mg as it was of the opinion that resveratrol affects lasts only for ten hours approximately so it should be consumed twice a day. Thus by taking resveratrol dose two times in a day a capsule of 15mg strength would suffice.
A recent study has revealed that if resveratrol has been consumed in mega dosage of 1000mg it has produced certain side effects. Though the side effects of anemia, diarrhea and anxiety are all easily reversible yet if avoided its always better. Thus a low dosage though will give the results late yet it would be free of all the side effects.
There are certain other studies which claim that a dosage of approximately 5 mg pre kilogram of body weight is extremely effective. Thus the resveratrol dosage should not be fixed or standardized; rather it should be in accordance to one’s body weight and other vital statistics.
