Resveratrol Research
Resveratrol is a natural compound found in certain plants like grapes and berries of various kinds, having antibiotic properties. In plants it is known to fight the growth of bacteria and fungi. Resveratrol researches have revealed its health benefits for the human beings as well. These research findings show that resveratrol is packed with antioxidants which are beneficial for humans in a number of ways. Grapes and its pulp which is used to make red wine are known to be packed with resveratrol.
Europeans and particularly the French are known to be red wine drinkers. For many years, people wondered about the health status of these people who had high calorie intake and yet were spared of the heart diseases. This phenomenon was further researched and the secret has been now revealed. With its numerous benefits of resveratrol being a weight reducing and anti-ageing product, resveratrol is also known to prevent heart diseases. This was the singular reason cited for the well being of the Europeans who had red wine as a part of their diet.
Comprehensive resveratrol researches have been conducted to show the following benefits:
- Detoxification of body tissue that help in the reversal of signs of ageing
- Slow the aging of skin and remove wrinkles and other signs of ageing
- Encourage weight loss
Other resveratrol researches conducted are as follows:
1. Resveratrol research by the Department of Genetics at Ewha Women’s University in Korea: this revealed the ability of resveratrol in prevention of the neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson disease.
2. Institute of Neurosurgery in China: their research on resveratrol revealed its benefits for brain regeneration after a cerebral ischemic stroke.
3. Research conducted by several universities of United States: resveratrol simulates the SIRT1 gene which is a link to the ageing process, thus helping in the slow down of the ageing process.
4. Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, China: a research conducted by the institute showed that resveratrol has the potential to inhibit tumor growths.
5. Research from the University of Brazil: as per their research it was shown that resveratrol is known to contain antioxidant properties that help in the prevention of oxidative stress. It also helps in improvement of brain functioning particularly after an injury.
Thus we see that various researches conducted on resveratrol show its numerous benefits. Although a natural compound found in grapes and other types of berries and peanuts, it is not necessary to consume large quantities of these fruits to get its benefits. Various forms of resveratrol in the form of pills and supplements are available in the market and these are equally potent in providing the various benefits.
